REST API

SecuMailer has a REST API for sending secure emails. Both the GDPR and the NTA 7516 functionality are fully accessible via this API.

The API is documented with OpenAPI specification 3.0.1.

The REST API has webhook functionality, which means that the SecuMailer platform can communicate email events with an HTTPS endpoint of the sender.

SMTP API

The SMTP API is usually the simplest integration option for many backend applications because backend applications often have a provision for an SMTP client on board.

We have successfully integrated for customers with Salesforce, SAP and Centric. We have also successfully integrated with patient file systems such as Medisoft Dossier Manager.

GraphQL API

The SecuMailer platform offers insight into email events. This can be done on the basis of a (push) webhook call (see REST API above) and on the basis of a (pull) GraphQL endpoint.

Security and privacy are paramount in our email communications. That is why we have been emailing via a secure connection since early 2019. An internal test group has recently tested this extensively for us. The conclusion is: as a user, you will notice virtually no difference!

For example, nothing has changed in MS Outlook for the user! But behind the scenes, a lot has changed: we do things differently from traditional email solutions! We do not ask users to work with cryptographic keys that are difficult to manage, and we do not bother them with external web portals. We do this transparently and ‘behind the scenes’ via SecuMailer.

SecuMailer offers a secure email experience and does not impose any additional requirements on the sender of the message. Every email we send via SecuMailer is digitally signed, which means that the content of the message cannot be altered. We deliver the email to the recipient’s inbox, monitor whether delivery is successful, and report this in the form of a periodic overview to the senders of the messages.

Because standard security protocols are used, the quality of the security can also be tested externally. This is done periodically.
